Does Your Resume Have an Accent?
Does Your Resume Have an Accent?Does your resume have an accent? This is a question that probably come up when you receive a resume from someone who thinks they have the perfect resume for you, but you are not getting much from it. Here are some things to consider before rejecting a resume that is a little less than perfect. Many people are still using the standard way of writing resumes - the one that was created by Xerox and has been around since the beginning of the computer age. The professional resume is set in many fonts and is done in an even flow of words. It tells the employer what job you do, why you want it and shows you with your skills and experience.Resumes that use the standard format of a professional resume should be correct in one way or another. For example, your employer wants you to write about your educational and work history. But sometimes, resumes can be lacking because they show too many qualities or skills that you don't have.If you take a moment to look at your resume, you'll see that there are missing words or spaces on the resume that show you had a proper job for the position. Sometimes the resume is just hard to read. When you look at your resume, you may not be able to see the entire information on each line. You may not know if you've written something like the following - 'Projected accomplishment' instead of 'Projected qualifications'.Take some time to find out what is wrong with your resume before you accept it. Then do a little more research online to find out how you can get rid of it. Many times, the answers are easy to find. But some companies will look at your resume from afar for months before accepting it.They may not even look at the resume they sent to you until the very last minute, after you've accepted the professional resume. So find out why your resume does not look the way it should. If it is a resume made by a computer and not a human being, you need to contact a professional resume writer so that they can rew rite it to look the way you need it to.Remember, your resume needs to reflect your skills and experience. There is no point sending it to someone who is not comfortable with the layout and formatting. But it's also important to get your resume in front of a manager who knows what to look for in your resume. If you make sure your resume is an accurate representation of your skills and experience, you may never have to deal with a resume that does not have an accent.
